What is the sate of NonsexualSocial Nudity in America Now?
Lately, I Have been perusing the World Wide Web. I desired to get a feel concerning how society in general feels towards non-sexual nudity and the nudist society as a whole. While seemingly you can find many advocates for non-sexual social nudity (given that it's done in a respectable manner and proper place), it looks like there are twice as many that condemn the notion. The search results also contained quite a few places by folks that cope with city, state and other government officials as well as a group of dating sites. I began to wonder, what has created this type of widespread interest in sexual nudity? Could it have been our upbringing, societal standards or maybe it's part of our genetic make-up? Why is it that straightforward nudity appears to continually be considered indecent and fundamentally sexual in our society now?
Surely, I'm not the only person who has found this. But as I continued to research, I found that, at least here in America, we've been "brainwashed to feel, believe and promote the natural state of undress as a bad / lewd thing. Historically we did not have clothing - aside in the furs worn to protect us from the components. Until Asia invented loom technology over six thousand years ago, we didn't even understand what clothing were. The early European settlers "educated" us that nudity was socially unacceptable here in the Americas. The fact the Natives had lived this way for a millennia, and even more, did not seem to make a difference. If anything, it might have done damage as they were perceived to be primitive people.
In all honesty, our heritage is that of nudity. The Greeks historically lived bare and espoused social nudity for centuries - using minimalist garments as a sign of social status. Additionally they depicted the naked body in arty paintings, sculptures and participated in many occasions (for example wrestling and mock battles) without a stitch of cloth. They were the forefathers that devised the Olympic Games - subsequently performed them in the nude. Due to lack of evidence to the contrary, the faiths of the world thousands of years ago started the repression of nudity. Regrettably, it's continued to this very day.
"Approve or Reject" by Yu Chang
Many questions have been running through my head by late. I keep wondering why society frowns on those who encourage complete body approval. Another question that goes hand in hand would be why we allow it to continue? Is
https://nudeace.com to express ourselves the way we desire? How could nudity be considered sexual when naturists and naturist communities present clear evidence to the contrary? Are individuals that embarrassed of their bodies which they need make up reasons to conceal them? Why am I not bare right now? And finally (for now), what can we do to alter the societal perspective and by doing this, create and grow the basic and fundamental understanding and approval of the nude human body?
Sadly, it appears like we as a society, are set in "our" manners and unless something or someone goes to dramatically change that way of thinking, we are going to simply continue to make minuscule steps toward an overall endorsement of nonsexual societal nudity. With the laws slowly transforming in some places for the better and in others for the worse, it seems like we might be treading water. But for those of us living in places for example Kansas City, Denver, Minneapolis in addition to other regions of the Midwest, I worry we may never experience such freedoms. At least not in my lifetime, which makes me wonder if things would differ if we would sink in more time and money to promote and bring more tourism from other states. It would be great had we had an organization that would dedicate itself to encouraging not just in the USA but abroad as well. Apparently, the regions with the most tourism, for example Croatia, additionally have the lesser number of restraints placed on naturists.
While places such as Kansas City / Missouri and Kansas do not automatically condemn naturists or our way of life, they do have laws preventing public nudity. Consequently, the feeling is that some residents here do not necessarily like the idea of such. The reason they give is that it is obscene because it depicts a girl baring her breasts and just partly clothed while shooting a photo of herself (copying the new nude selfies phenomena). Thankfully, a grand jury determined the statue isn't obscene and is considered artwork.
It shames me to say that the American society which claims to be accepting of anyone and everyone is, in fact, anything but. I think that society, as a whole, make people ashamed of themselves. As a consequence, the embarrassed fight against what we as naturists try to defeat. Who's to say a girl just isn't attractive only because she is bigger in relation to the malnourished girl on a billboard? Who determined that the man is not beautiful because he has body hair and a beer gut and never the toned, hairless body of the model on TV? Why could it be that most folks are blind to the true beauty of a person?
When American society begins to see the true beauty of a person, maybe they'll see exactly the same things we do and accept the natural beauty that's us. Until then, I suppose we are going to continue to see our respective nudist allocated places, live in the buff behind closed doors and expect that we'll someday come together as a whole and reverse the shame that has been inflicted on us so many years past.
